Fun Friday Theme

Join us as we take our swimming skills to the next level! On Friday, May 19th, we’ll prepare for our first meet of the 2023 season, where we’ll show the one and only Aquaman how strong our Mighty Dolphins are! Come to put your skills to the test!

Aquaman and Picnic

This first meet of the season — an intrasquad competition (only our team is swimming) on Sunday, May 21st — will be filled with camaraderie and competitive spirit. Look out for our dedicated meet logistics email coming to your inbox on Tuesday, May 16th.

But that's not all – after the meet, starting at 5.30pm, our team members can look forward to a delightful picnic that promises to be a memorable occasion to kick off the season. Bring dinner, chairs, blankets and friends to the park behind Phase 1 pool! As a special highlight, the picnic will feature a medals presentation, honoring our top swimmers for their outstanding Aquaman freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly and backstroke, with the lowest combined times in each age group earning an ‘Aquaman’ title.

Adding to the fun of the evening, Coach Maye, known for her creativity and dedication to our team, is starting a new venture—a face painting business. To kickstart her business and bring joy to our swimmers, Coach Maye has generously offered to paint playful dolphins to mystical mermaids and fierce sharks at the picnic.

Finally, our Aquaman event will also showcase a noble cause, as our team collaborates with Project Hope Alliance to incorporate a charity element. Together, we’re organizing a laundry kit drive to support those in need, aiming to make a positive impact on our larger community.

How to Help HVST Build 25 Laundry Kits

1. Buy a couple essential items from the list below to complete laundry day for a family:

• Roll of quarters or a gift card to Target, Amazon, Visa, etc. (a donation of at least $25 is preferred, but any amount will make a difference)
• Laundry basket, laundry bag, or a folding shopping cart
• Laundry detergent
• Fabric softener
• Stain remover
• Dryer sheets
• An encouraging handwritten note or drawing

2. Starting Monday, May 15th, place your items in a Project Hope Alliance barrel on the pool deck or bring it to the Aquaman picnic!

Swim-A-Palooza

Our annual HVST Swim-A-Palooza lap-a-thon is on Wednesday, May 24th and together, we’ve already raised over $2,000. SWIM-A-PALOOZA IS OUR BIG FUNDRAISER FOR THE SEASON and we need everyone to help make it a splashing success! Our goal is for 100% participation with each swimmer raising at least $50. All of the funds collected from this fundraiser will help purchase new technology for hosting HVST meets (computers, printers, iPads). Taking place during your swimmer’s regular practice time, there will be raffles, prizes, special treats, and music to make the event extra FUN! Read all about gathering sponsorship pledges here.

Lip Sync Sign Up

An online sign up form will soon circulate for our annual magical evening of talent that will take place on Saturday, June 17th. Start to form your groups now (one to five swimmers is an ideal group size... six max) and brainstorm a song, dance, skit or talent (two minutes max) to perform on stage for your teammates, coaches, neighbors and friends. Like always, the sillier the better! There will be no duplicate songs so #firstcomefirstserve.
