The Mighty Dolphin Dive In

On behalf of our team of volunteers and coaches, let us take this opportunity to welcome you, our Mighty Dolphin swimmers and parents, to our 2024 swim season! It’s with great excitement that we’re preparing for opening day at HVST! In this weekly letter, you will find important information regarding our upcoming schedule and team.

Important Dates to Note:

• April 15: First day of practice
• April 15: Gear try on day
• April 19: Fun Friday

First Day of Practice

Our practices begin Monday, April 15 - see our age group schedule here. Note: for 5/6 swimmers, you have the option of attending either the 3pm or 3:30pm practice. Please be sure your swimmers are punctual and prepared (swimsuit, goggles, fins and cap). Practices are not mandatory but highly recommended. New skills and training will be taught on a daily basis and we have found it can be difficult for a Dolphin to improve without consistent attendance.

Gear Try on Day

If you would like to see and try HVST gear on in person, Competitive Aquatic Supply (CAS) is hosting a Gear Try On Day at our pool deck on Monday, April 15 - 3pm to 5pm. If you can’t make it during this time, the competition gear can be tried at the CAS Swim Shop in Huntington Beach. Fun Friday Theme

April 19 marks our first Fun Friday practice hosted by Coach Maye. Our whole practice will be dolphin related and expect your athletes to leave mega-hyped to be a Mighty Dolphin!

Fun Friday practice times are as follows:

5/6 option 1: 3:00-3:30

5/6 option 2: 3:30-4:00

7/8: 4:00-4:45

9+: 4:45-5:45

Calling All Volunteers!

We need every family to help in some way for our team to run smoothly. The requirement is for each family to have someone volunteer four half-meets (including one shift at an away meet), regardless of whether your swimmer attends the meets. The good news is that there are tons of ways to volunteer, so you’re sure to find a couple volunteer roles that suit you. We also have two remaining Roles available - 1) Fun Friday Lead and 2) Volunteer Manager (click here for role descriptions and more information). These roles free you and your family from day-of-meet volunteering.
